A NEW YORK MINUTE
Toady was a perfect day. It's raining outside, Kris is cooking dinner and I am blasting the Big Little Lies soundtrack on Spotify in our office nook while I work. My sister is coming into town next week for my birthday and I can't help but think about the last time she was in town.
A couples years ago she flew to NYC to help style us for our engagement shoot that was photographed throughout the city in all of our favorite spots. The picture above was taken at the The Standard Grill (Thanks Ala!) while we did an outfit change. I look at the girl in this photo and I was 30 years old, engaged, and full of so much excitement for the year to come! If you would have asked me in that very minute what I had envisioned was in store for the both of us, I truthfully wouldn't have been able to tell you. I still can't. So much growth has been achieved since then, both personally and as a couple, and naturally many things have not yet been achieved. Whatever lies in front of us, we navigate everything together and I wouldn't change that for the world.
With that said, as I stare outside our corner window today, and watch the bustling NYC urbanites scurry by - I am forever grateful for this moment. I still have no clue what is in store for us; but, I am still that same excited girl, hopeful for all that lies ahead. XXVVH
